Award Winning Irish Steak
FIRE Steakhouse & Bar is proud to feature a special Guest Steak this month: the National Gold Award–winning ribeye from O’Leary Family Butchers. Crowned Best Ribeye at the Craft Butcher Expo 2026, the award recognises exceptional craftsmanship from the Associated Craft Butchers of Ireland.
The accolade comes in a landmark year for the O’Leary family, who are celebrating 100 years in business in Millstreet, Co. Cork, where Jerry and James O’Leary continue a proud family tradition established in 1926.
A Message from Richie Wilson
After being asked to run the Irish Steak Challenge with Irish Craft Butchers Association, FIRE is delighted to be able to work with this year’s champions. Jerry O’Learly clearly shares the same passion for great beef as we do here in FIRE and this came through with this outstanding Hereford Rib Eye steak.
Our amazing grill chefs prepared all the steaks for the challenge and our senior chefs took part in the judging process, all agreed that this was the right steak for us to feature during a week where the world celebrates all things Irish. I have paired this up with some of the most quintessentially Irish pairings. Boxty cake, a traditional Irish potato cake that would have been made in the mornings for those heading off to a hard days work. Guinness sauce, gives the perfect treacle like balance to the dish and of course the main ingredient of this sauce would make the perfect pairing to wash it all down.
